~LEXIE~

Well... our PitBull X, Lexie, is STILL searching for her furever home!! Why?? We're not really sure!!??? She is between 1.5 - 2 years old, spayed & vaccinated, and has lots of love to give!! Lexie would love to be the only pet in the house. She cannot go to a home with cats or small animals, and although she sometimes gets along with other dogs, we'd prefer it if she was an 'only child'. Off leash parks are off limits to Lexie at this time.

Lexie is currently taking some professional training classes and is doing wonderfully!! She knows "sit", "down", and is perfecting the art of "stay" :)

She's your typical Bully breed, in that she is strong and exhuberant. But at the same time, she loves to just sit at your feet and watch TV with you.

Lexie would love to find a home with a big yard where she can run & play. She loves to be outside, but is not the kind of dog to be kept outdoors all day long (she has short short hair!)

Lexie wanted us to share some of her amazing qualities with you: She is not loud in the house and barely barks as it is, she loves to be with people, she loves to go for walks, and loves to cuddle. Sound good to you??? And there's more!!! Lexie loves to go for runs or bike rides, and is always up for a game of tug-o-war!!

Oh! And she'll also watch your hotdogs cook :)

Lexie is in a foster home in Calgary, so if you are interested in meeting Lexie - or interested in adopting - please email us at taberadoptionoptions@hotmail.com
Please provide your name, address, phone number or email address, and a brief description of your home environment (ie current pets, yard size).

As Lexie's Foster mom, I can say she has learned so much in the last month! She is trading in her bad habits for good ones and is loving life in the big city.

She loves to smell things (I suspect she might have some Ridgeback or other type of hound in her...it amazes me some of the things she finds under all the snow out there!). I'm thinking of training her to find my keys or the remote so they will never go missing again!

It is now June and Lexie has been fostering with me since the middle of February! It is hard to believe that 4 months have really gone by already.

Lexie is doing better than ever. She has become a well adjusted dog, learning to finally trust people in ways she never used to.

She has matured a lot in the last little bit and is starting to transition out of her puppyhood. When Lexie first came to live with me, her social development was several months behind (think of a 20 year old acting like a 10 year old). She has now almost caught up to where she should be based on her age.

It's a process, but Lexie is so smart and is ready to find her forever home.

Is she still up for adoption ?

Don't buy a puppy, adopt one. There are many homeless dogs on the streets, struggling to make their daily living by eating foods from the garbage. Just adopt and give one lucky dog your shelter.

Having a pet adoption plan is is such a good idea, all my pets are from the shelters and we are supporting the ADOPT DON"T BUY campaign. Please support the PETS ADOPTION. By the way, thank you for sharing this.
